V.I is a free VST plugin for designed to convert a stereo input to a 5.1 audio output. You can then save this data in a file and encode it into a surround sound file using appropriate software. V.I cannot go back into a recording studio and separate the original multitrack audio into separate channels, but it can extract ambience information embedded in the stereo audio and redistribute it among 5.1 channels. Recording engineers, audio engineers and enthusiasts have been doing this kind of thing for years in one way or another. V.I simply combines some of their techniques in one VST plugin.

The LCRS Encoder VST Plug-in is especially designed for Cubase and Nuendo. It is an LCRS 4:2 Matrix Encoder. It is not a Dolby Digital AC-3 Encoder. It encodes 4 channels (Left, Center, Right, Surround) into two channels (stereo) for playback on Dolby Pro Logic Style receivers and decoders. If you playback audio encoded using this encoder on a normal stereo you won’t hear the surround channel but instead you will hear the out of phase information that may appear to be coming from inside your head. This plug can be used with the 5.1, 6.0, 6.1 and most other surround formats found in Nuendo and Cubase. It must have a surround channel. It is recommended that you switch to the LCRS format otherwise there will likely be unexpected results. You should note that you can only pan a single sound at a time. This is more of a limitation with Dolby Pro Logic Decoders and not the plug-in.

This plug-in is designed for use in Cubase and Nuendo. It simulates the bass management systems found on most dolby digital and dts surround sound receivers. This allows surround sound engineers to hear what their 5.1 surround mix sounds like without having to burn a CDr or DVDr and then play it through a consumer 5.1 surround receiver.
This plug-in is to be used as a Master Plug-in. This plug-in is to be used for monitoring only. This means you turn off the plug-in when you render your main audio files.

A free VST effect plug-in that lets you place sound sources in a realistic 3D audio environment.
Features
* Full lateral placement as well as vertical movement
* Room modeling reverb
* Switch between headphone mode and speaker mode to obtain optimal results
