NEW! Music Box beta - Free Interactive Music Generator

Hi Everyone,

I’ve just been fixing broken links, and I am having a lot of trouble finding copies of Bass Box, and Stringy Stringazoide.

If anyone knows where I could track these down (web.archive.org doesn’t seem to have them), please let me know!

Thanks a lot -

Cheers,

Crispin

Not directly related to music software, but have you ever tried the WayBack Machine? It’s at web.archive.org - and can serve up copies of entire websites which are out of service.  It has been very useful in fixing links to long lost VST’s.

Cheers,

Crispin

Hi Everyone,

For your listening pleasure, you may want to check out this site:

musicovery.com

It’s a great site which lets you listen to popular music (for free) based on settings such as mood and genre. Lot of fun :)

Cheers,

Crispin

Hi Everyone,

Lars from Magix.com writes to tell me that they are conducting a survey to determine the music-software habits of all of you computer-audio enthusiasts. After answering a few multiple choice questions, they enter you in a draw for a new Ipod, which seems like a pretty nice incentive. If you’d like to participate, go here:

THE SURVEY

Does anyone have a copy of Nubi LE?

Here is a link to the page

It seems that the nubi3 site is down, and I can’t find the files hosted elsewhere… Lets not lose this good software for ever!

Cheers :)

Nearly there!

Keep the suggestions coming, ladies and gentleman. I’ve received the names of nearly 50 of your favourite VST effects, and once I crack that mark, I’ll add the new section. Send them to me here.

Cheers,

Crispin

I thought I’d give the software additions a break for a little while (the well is starting to run slightly dry), and add a new section for free VST effects. Gael submitted a great site, but I would really appreciate some more recommendations. With a couple of exceptions, I’ve usually limited my effects plugins to the ones included with the software sequencer, so I may need a little help with this section.

Write here to send me the names of your favourite VST effects.

Cheers!

Crispin

Hi,

Another great site recommended by Gael:

www.goldbaby.co.nz/freestuff.html

It’s a collection of about a dozen free sample packs, for your mixing pleasure.  Some interesting ones too, like a TR808 recorded onto a casette tape.

Cheers,

Crispin

Gael (from C.S.W. Studio) writes to let me know about a great site for free soundclips, here is the address:

www.soundsnap.com

Definitely worth a look -

Crispin

Hi Audiophilies,

I just received an email from Ronnie, letting me know that he has a collection of free loops (beats and melodic) on his website. They’re organized into sample packs. I’ve added it to the samples section - Check it out:

Hi,

I was browsing the wonderful world of online music freeware today and found a piece of software I hadn’t heard of before. It’s not freeware (so I won’t add it to the database) - though according to the site, there is a fully functional no-limitations version of the software available.

According to the Reaper website:

—-
