SBleep-0, or Super Bleep-o is a groove box (synthesizer w/ sequencer). The basic idea is to have two short melodies playing at the same time…and then smash their waveforms together like particle accelerators! There are two melody generators, each with their own sequencer and oscillator. Each oscillator has a small number of waveforms it can create.

The Non-Linear Waveform Combiner is the atom smasher that gives “Sblee” all its unique power. You see, adding together two melodies has been done- for several hundred years. Bu this millenium? It’s all about non-linear waveform mixing! When you multiply, for example, two melodies together, you are instantly transported into another space. The theories which generated the scales that created the melodies are instantly lost in space-wind. Take a listen to some of the examples. You’ll hear various other non-linear waveform combinations, like XOR, A+B with clipping, A being used to shift B to the left or right, and others too complex to explain!

The BBCut Library began out of work on an algorithm to simulate the automatic cutting of breakbeats in the style of early jungle or drum and bass Nick Collins.

Livecut is a live beat-slicer but instead of manipulating equal chunks of audio like most beatslicer do, it works on the notion of audio cuts whose length and number of repetition depends on the context and the cutting procedure. cuts are organized in blocks which then form a phrase. Once you extract the presets to FXP files, you can organize those files in any way you want, or download categorized FXP files from our future library of VST FXP files. When a FXP is loaded, it will load the correct VST for it and apply the FXP Preset to the loaded VST.

For instance, you can have one directory full with FXP files that has only BASS sounds. Those files can be from several different VSTs. So when you browse and load each FXP, it will load the correct VST. Making browsing for sounds with multiple VSTs much easier. You can also categorize by mood, style, or any other way you want.

The idea is simple but the effects can be subtle and powerful.

These to ones are just converters mapping M -> L and S -> R so that you can put your own effects between the coder and the decoder. The effects below are just some hard-coded ones.

::msComp::
This one uses the same compression algorithm as my “classic” compressor, but focus on the Middle signal without touching at the Side. A typical use of this effect is to boost a mix without touching at the stereo image.

::msBalance::
2 separate gains for the Middle and side signals.

::msSwap::
it just swap the Middle and Side. You can use it before msComp if you want to compress the side instead of the Middle.

This is a simplified version of analog delay that you can use to delay either the middle or the side.

The mode dropdown boxes are the signal to pulsetrain modules, which helps tame it. Pos/Neg is usually good, they work alongside the 2 threshold knobs at the bottom, left one is 1st oscillator, right is 2nd.

1st oscillator is at the top, top ADSR is filter, next one down is volume. You can select octave, fine tune and individual note. Then just below octave is a choice of math equations, I took math modules and put in different parameters.

Below all that the 2nd oscillator starts, same situation but with different math stuff going on, and the octave selector mostly won’t change octaves, rather it just changes the sound, with the 2nd oscillator I find 1 or 2 works the best, while the top oscillator I normally use for -1 or -2 for a heavy sound.

Threshold is the dh mingate module, basically a noise gate. Left one is the 1st top oscillator, right is bottom.

Tablet 2 MIDI is a standalone windows application that allow you to use your graphics tablet / tablet PC / digitizer as a set of MIDI controllers. You can add a virtually unlimited number of controllers, by defining areas of the tablet surface as buttons, sliders or XY-pads. Controllers can be layered for even more customization.

You define controllers either with the mouse or with the tablet pen.

Using the pen you can digitize any hand drawn controller layout, in other words: add midi output to a piece of paper.

If you prefer drawing with the mouse, you can use a simple right click menu to quickly add a controller

Controllers can be moved, resized and copied. Finally the whole layout can be printed

By having a paper copy of the layout directly on the tablet surface you can move controllers simply by pointing on the tablet and moving the pen. This means you can avoid Looking at the screen - just like when using any hardware midi-controller.

If your tablet supports pressure, tilt and rotation you get a total of 7 parameters that can be mapped to any MIDI Continous Controller or note.

The classis example of usage is to play a theramin VSTi: you can control both pitch, amplitude and filter simultaniously. Textures / drones and pads are handy to control with XY pads too. I’ve had great luck controlling string based pads using the tablet as a virtual “bow”
